Located in the Westgate Community of Northwest Bend, this 5,000 SF single-family residence was designed to integrate seamlessly with its natural surroundings.

The home capitalizes on the region’s expansive views of the Cascade Mountains, using thoughtful durable materials to create a modern, well-built home. The design prioritizes spatial efficiency, indoor-outdoor connectivity, and the use of high-performance building systems tailored for the region’s climate.

Project Features

  • Large, strategically placed openings frame the expansive views of the high desert while maintaining privacy.

  • A restrained selection of natural wood, concrete, and glass ensures durability and low maintenance while complementing the landscape.

  • Deep overhangs, thermal massing, and operable glazing regulate temperature and enhance comfort.

  • Expansive sliding doors, covered terraces, and a central courtyard create a fluid transition between interior spaces and the natural terrain.

  • Fire-resistant exterior materials, combined with a carefully planned landscape, create a defensible space and reduce the risk of ignition.

  • The residence is positioned to preserve sightlines between neighboring homes, maintaining Westgate’s emphasis on openness and native landscapes.
